Dubai: Emirates touched down yesterday in Bahrain International Airport and Hamad International Airport in Doha with its popular A380 aircraft for one-off services. The special A380 flights were at full capacity, supporting the sizeable traffic over the Eid Holiday period from both countries.

This marked the first ever scheduled service of an Emirates A380 to Qatar. This was also the third time the Emirates A380 lands in Bahrain.

Shaikh Majid Al Mualla, Divisional Senior Vice President Commercial Operations Centre said: “Emirates is currently operating a one-off ad hoc Airbus A380 services to Bahrain and Doha due to significant demand for air travel during the Eid Holiday period. Although we have no immediate plans to operate an A380 on those routes in the near future, we remain committed to providing customers in Bahrain and Qatar with seamless connectivity to the Far East, North America, Europe and the Middle East through our Dubai hub. The signature Emirates A380 service is fundamental to our overall strategy, and bringing this popular aircraft to both destinations represents significant milestones in our operations.”
