Dubai: Emirates’ senior management continue to meet regularly with flight attendants in forums set up earlier this year for cabin crew to raise grievances directly with superiors.

“I have had really great meetings with cabin crew. [I] continue to be connected every month and they’re really positive and I’m really pleased,” Terry Daly, Division Senior Vice President – Service Delivery at Emirates, told Gulf News on Tuesday.

Daly called for the meetings in January in an email sent to flight attendants, writing that he was “aware that there are a number of subjects that are causing concern”, the Wall Street Journal reported on March 20.

Emirates management reportedly held its first meeting with flight attendants in February and Gulf News was aware of at least a total of four meetings as of June.

Daly, speaking at the Dubai International Project Management Forum, said on Tuesday he was happy with the group meetings with flight attendants, which he said he would continue for the foreseeable future.

“It’s been a great exercise in sharing ideas and working together and looking at the way we can work together more closely,” he said.

Flight attendants have previously told Gulf News the meetings, which they said are held in a large forum at Emirates’ headquarters, have resulted in a number of improvements. Emirates employs around 20,00 flight attendants.
