Dubai: Emirates airline carried 49.3 million passengers for the financial year ending March 31, 2015, according to signage at its headquarters in Dubai.

Emirates Group is scheduled to release its financial results at its headquarters this morning. However, signage in its main atrium area has revealed some information, including passenger numbers, ahead of the announcement.

A spokesperson confirmed the numbers were related to the financial year it is reporting today.

Emirates airlines President Tim Clark said this week that the results will be the company's "second most profitable" ever.

Last November, Adel Al Redha, Emirates airline executive vice president and chief operations officer, said the carrier is “expecting to reach 50 million passengers” in the 2014-15 financial year.

Emirates Group financial year is from April 1 to March 31.

The airline also received Dh18.7 billion in financing for aircraft and other investments, received delivery of 24 aircraft and carried 2.4 million tonnes of cargo, according to the signage.
