Emirates Group’s travel and airport services unit has purchased a majority stake in Air Dispatch, which is a subsidiary of British company Chapman Freeborn Group.

Dnata said in a statement on Monday it had purchased a majority stake in the company. It did not say how much it paid or the size of the stake.

Air Dispatch provides loading services to aircraft at airports in Prague, Czech Republic and Warsaw , Poland. Its clients include Qantas, Qatar Airways and Cathay Pacific.

“This latest acquisition will allow us to further broaden our portfolio to our airline customers and strengthen our position as a leading global air services provider,” dnata’s Divisional Senior Vice-President of International Airport Operations Stewart Angus said in the statement.

Air Dispatch chief executive Nick Yeadon and the management team will continue to lead the company, dnata’s statement said.

Dnata, who saw its profit cross the Dh1 billion mark for the first time in the financial year ending March, has made a series of global acquisitions in travel and airport operations in recent years.

In June, it announced it had purchased a stake in Asian travel company Destination Asia Group for an undisclosed sum.
