Dubai: Pakistan's largest private airline, Airblue, will move its flight operations from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 of Dubai International Airport with effect from Sunday, an airline official said.

"All our flights to different destinations in Pakistan will be operated from Terminal 1 from Sunday following an agreement between the airline and the local authorities concerned," said Sadaf Eslam Jalil, country manager of Airblue in the UAE.

The airline launched its operations from Dubai in 2005 with a daily flight to Karachi. It started flights from Sharjah and Abu Dhabi in 2008. Since its launch the airline has seen rapid growth with seven flights daily from three airports in the UAE to four destinations in Pakistan. The airline now operates 49 flights per week, 21 from Dubai, 14 from Sharjah and 14 flights from Abu Dhabi to four major cities, Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar.

"We have received a tremendous response from Dubai and our policy of low fares and quality service has also helped us get more passengers," she said

Regarding passengers' complaints about repeated delays she said the airline had got new aircraft and the issue had been resolved.
