Dubai: An Air France plane flying to Madrid from Paris has declared that it is redirecting to another airport due to a medical emergency.

As of 10.32am, Dubai time, AirLive.net reported that Flight AF1000 has “declared an emergency and diverting” to Bordeaux, a town southwest of the French capital.

The airline has so far not issued any official advisory or statement to confirm the incident. The plane departed from Charles de Gaulle airport at 7.15am (local time) and was scheduled to arrive in Madrid, Spain at 9.20am.

Last December, just shortly after the terrorist attacks in Paris, an Air France flight flying from Mauritius to Paris was forced to make an emergency landing due to a bomb scare.

A suspicious device was found in one of the toilets. The airline later declared that the incident was a false alarm.

UPDATE: The airline has confirmed in a tweet that flight AF1000 did encounter a medical emergency while en route to Spain, but the plane has already "landed normally".
