Abu Dhabi: Privately-owned Falcon Aviation Services (FAS) is looking to hire up to 40 new staff by the end of 2015 when it opens its Dh100 million “completion centre” in Dubai.

Kenneth McIntyre, General Manager, said in an interview at the Abu Dhabi Air Expo that the company is looking to increase its workforce as it expands its operations with the previously announced 8,000 square metre site.

The staff are expected to be a mixture of locally and overseas based recruits.

FAS is a VVIP charter airline based in Abu Dhabi. It operates business jet and helicopter charter flights as well as maintenance and repair services, among others.

Earlier this week FAS announced it is building a new facility in Dubai World Centre that will be capable of fitting out the exterior and interiors of private jets. It will include painting the aeroplane and fitting it with seats and other facilities.

The facility is set to open at the end of 2015.

McIntyre said the Dh100m facility will also offer maintenance and repair services to aeroplanes of “any size.” This will allow FAS to cater to the commercial and private jets operating at Al Maktoum International, which is in Dubai World Central.

FAS is a privately owned company and does not release financials. It did not comment on how it is financing the Dh100m investment.
