Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Air Expo, the region's first general aviation exhibition to be held at Al Bateen Executive Airport, was inaugurated on Tuesday by Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser and Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
The event is organised by the Abu Dhabi Airports Company (Adac) at its dedicated business aviation airport until Thursday.
Shaikh Hazza was greeted and escorted by Khalifa Mohammmad Al Mazroui, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Airports Company (Adac), as Adac board members, senior company executives and senior members of the aviation industry stakeholders, toured the event which covers nearly 70,000 square metres.
The event is showcasing more than 70 aircraft and brings together nearly 100 distributors offering the latest in general aviation technology and innovation products and services.
The expo is organised and hosted by Al Bateen Executive Airport to gather major participants from the international and local general aviation community bringing aircraft to the static display and share the latest innovations in the general aviation industry.
The show will be a platform for the major players in this developing sector to gather and share their latest innovations with a continuously growing audience. Key exhibitors include Etihad Airways, Royal Jet, Mubadala Aerospace, the UAE Armed Forces and Rotana Jet.
"It is a major milestone for Adac to successfully host the first dedicated exhibition for general aviation in the Middle East at Al Bateen Executive Airport. The outstanding success that Al Bateen Executive Airport witnessed in 2011 and the economic growth that Abu Dhabi is registering make Al Bateen the perfect venue to gather aviation professionals from the region to showcase the latest general aviation developments and create the ideal platform for potential business ventures," Al Mazroui said.
The expo will enable a demanding clientele to discover a wide and representative range of the industry's latest developments and innovations in a remarkable and convenient location.
