Sharjah: Bee’ah, the environmental and waste management company, has launched its ‘Recycling Just Got Easier’ campaign, designed to make green and blue waste disposal and recycling bags available to the public across Sharjah Cooperative Society outlets.
As a part of the expansion of its residential recycling programme, recycling bins will be distributed across new, key locations in the emirate – including Al Juraina 1, Al Juraina 2, Al Garain and Al Noaf.
The ‘Recycling Just Got Easier’ bags will come in different sizes and be available at Sharjah Cooperative Society outlets in Qarayen, Halwan, Al Khan, Abu Shagara, Sweihat and Nukhailat. Once the campaign enters its second phase, the bags will be stored at an additional 20 Sharjah Cooperative Society sites.
First inaugurated by Bee’ah in 2012, the residential recycling programme is set to help educate the residents of Sharjah on effective waste management solutions, the importance of recycling and the adverse effects of improper disposal of waste.
The company’s objectives also aim to treat all the waste collected through Bee’ah’s recycling facilities and turn it into reusable material. These treatment initiatives will include waste to energy technology, organic composting, metal recycling and other initiatives for the treatment of other types of waste streams.
Both these recycling initiatives were created in line with Bee’ah’s plan to achieve zero waste to landfill in Sharjah by 2015.
