Dubai: A receptionist hurled a stack of papers at her co-worker when he molested her by jabbing a pen in her posterior while she waited for him at his desk.

The 37-year-old Filipina receptionist was said to have gone to the accounting department at the trading company where she works to discuss some financial issues with her 33-year-old Indian co-worker in August.

As the co-worker, an accountant, was not present in his office, the Filipina stood beside his desk waiting for him. While standing there waiting, the receptionist felt someone pinching her in her back and when she turned quickly she found the accountant jabbing her with a pen.

The Filipina scolded the accountant, reported the matter to the company’s management, and later informed the police.

The 33-year-old accountants was taken into custody.

Prosecutors accused the suspect of molesting the woman by touching her posterior.

The accountant pleaded not guilty and rejected the charge of molestation when he appeared before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Monday.

“I was holding a pen when I jabbed her thigh,” he told the court.

Meanwhile, the receptionist told presiding judge Urfan Omar that she has pardoned the suspect and waived her complaint against him.

“Did he touch you?” presiding judge Omar asked the victim, who replied: “Yes he did but I forgave him.”

The receptionist told prosecutors that the incident happened inside the suspect’s office.

“I felt someone pinching my posterior. I looked back and saw the suspect. I hurled the stack of papers that I was carrying at him but did not hit him,” she told prosecutors.

The suspect was quoted as admitting to prosecutors that he jabbed a pen in the woman’s backside.

A ruling in the case will be heard on October 30
