Dubai: A student aged 20 and two schoolboys, aged 11 and 12, have been accused of attempting to rape an 11-year-old boy at a house where they tied him up for two hours.

The Emirati schoolboys were said to have lured their 11-year-old classmate, also an Emirati, into the house of the 20-year-old student, A.O., where they pretended that they wanted to play PlayStation before they attempted to have sex with him in July.

Prosecutors accused A.O., an Emirati, of attempted rape and referred him to the Dubai Court of First Instance.

Meanwhile the schoolboys were referred to the Dubai Juveniles Court where they will stand trial soon.

“I did not do so,” said A.O. when he entered a not guilty plea before presiding judge Fahd Al Shamsi in court on Sunday.

According to the charge sheet, prosecutors said the student and the juveniles tied up the victim with iron shackles for two hours before they attempted to rape him.

Records said the schoolboy cried bitterly when he refused to have sex with the suspects before they untied him and let him go.

The boy’s father testified to prosecutors that the police notified him that his son was subject to a rape bid and moved to hospital.

“I rushed to the hospital to check on him … then I took him to the police station where we lodged an official complaint,” he claimed.

Meanwhile the 11-year-old schoolboy was cited telling prosecutors: “The two juveniles came and pushed me forcibly into A.O.’s house without saying a word. They tied me with iron chains and played PlayStation for two hours. The student then towards me and asked me to perform something bizarre to him … when I refused, he removed my pants. Then I started crying before the other two schoolboys released me and I ran to my house.”

The juvenile suspects were quoted as telling prosecutors that they spotted A.O. in his underwear and lying over the victim.

A.O.’s lawyer is expected to produce his defence when the court reconvenes on November 8.
