The group 'was involved in a fight over some financial dispute'
Sharjah: Sharjah Police on Tuesday arrested 14 men suspected of killing two men and injuring two others in Al Saja’a last week.
All the suspects are Indians and were arrested within 48 hours of the crime taking place.
The group was involved in a fight over some financial dispute, Colonel Ebrahim Al Ajel, Head of Criminal and Investigation Department at Sharjah Police, said.
Two people were severely injured and are currently being treated at Al Qasimi and Al Kuwait hospitals.
Two people died when a heated argument led to a fight between the group at Al Saja’a Industrial Area.
The police arrested the suspects from various places and they confessed to hitting the men with sharp tools.
Col Al Ajel warned of strict action against people who choose to settle disputes by using violence and that hefty penalties will be slapped against violators.
He calls all community members to approach legal channel to solve their problems.
Gulf News reported on January 3 that two men were stabbed to death while two others were injured in a brawl after an argument turned violent.
The fight erupted at the industrial area among a group of men in their 30s.
Police said they received a call for assistance on Sunday and when they arrived they found a large crowd as well as two men in a pool of blood.
Officers say the deceased were fatally stabbed with an unidentified blunt weapon.
The injured men were transferred to hospital for treatment.
A number of men at the scene who witnessed the incident were summoned by police to be questioned.
The men were under the influence of alcohol when the brawl took place on Sunday afternoon.
