Ajman: His Highness Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, on Tuesday received Ali Mohammad Al Mazroui, an Emirati citizen who had contacted Ajman Radio to speak live on air about inflation and price hikes in the markets and its impact on the living standards of Emiratis.

After the call, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, ordered the provision of all immediate needs of Al Mazroui and his family, and also issued an instruction for a detailed study to be conducted regarding Emiratis with limited income.

During Tuesday’s meeting, which was also attended by Shaikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, Shaikh Humaid emphasised that the UAE’s leadership is keen on the dignity and reputation of Emiratis, and gives great attention to making citizens happy and providing them with a dignified life.

Shaikh Humaid said that the leadership stands by Emiratis and accepts constructive criticism from them. He added that Emiratis and others have a right to lodge their grievances or raise an issue that concerns their daily lives.

Separately, the suspended anchor of the programme Al Rabiaa Wal Nas, which had aired Al Mazroui’s grievances, made a live call to the programme, which was again hosting Al Mazroui, to apologise to Al Mazroui on air. The anchor also apologised to the UAE’s leaders and Ajman Radio.

The suspended anchor, Yaqoub Al Awadi, also met Al Mazroui in person after the programme to apologise again to him.

Al Awadi was suspended following an instruction by Shaikh Ammar for the discourteous manner in which he had interacted with Al Mazroui.
