Laws are weak

It’s a shame for India. The perpetrators of this heinous rape must be tried and given the death penalty. They have no place in a civilised world. I believe India’s laws are, often, very weak and can be politically manipulated. The BJP government is weak in such matters.

Not a religious conflict

It’s not about any religion. We should change our mindset in India. We should not fear any political parties, and focus on punishment for the culprits. Though, in this case, I think any punishment is not enough.

Please do something

The incident is shocking, shameful and gives me a sense of helplessness. There have been many cases of rape in India and year after year, the names of the girls change, the incidents get more brutal, the country is left shaken, but nothing is done. The laws are the same and there is no accountability. I don’t know when these politicians will learn. When will they understand that women are not safe in India, and this is not an opinion anymore. Girls are dying and it has nothing to do with wearing make-up, revealing clothes or staying out too late. I hope that something is done in the near future. We cannot sit back and watch these hooligans butcher our women.

How many Nirbhayas?

This is my message to the lawmakers and leaders: We don’t need to build ties with other countries, when our hearts cry out because of these heinous acts within the nation. Who would like to visit a nation where young girls or even babies are not safe? We are not capable if we cannot stop this. Protecting our women should be the first and prime agenda of our leaders now. How many more ‘Nirbhayas’ will we create?

No powerful laws

Well, the government is not promoting rape culture but they have failed to bring about a powerful law that will punish the culprits.

Politicians promote rape

Expecting action against rape crimes from a government which functions on the footsteps of a leader who uses rape as a political tool is akin to taking water from a mirage. The same BJP ministers that created a lot of ruckus during the Nirbhaya case, are comfortably maintaining their silence in light of the recent rape case. Politicians never cared for the wellbeing of women and this has been evident since the Gujarat riots in 2002. They always use rape as a tool to threaten those who do not side with them in their atrocities. This has been seen time and again and has been proved in many riots that have taken place in the country. Even in the case of the Kathua in Kasmir, they have threatened the lawyer Deepika Rajawat, who is representing Asifa, the girl who was brutally raped and killed.

Want to hide the facts

Initially, the BJP adopted the slogan ‘Beti bachao’ (Save our daughters). The BJP’s ministers came on the roads to protest against the culprits, just for the sake of their party’s reputation. The Prime Minister only opened his mouth after the United Nations spoke about it. The Chief Minister was silent. The case is serious, apparently not because an 8-year-old was raped and murdered but because everyone was talking about it.

What is the agenda?

The Indian Judiciary needs to be to be restructured because their current political agenda is protecting criminals.

From Mr Femees Musthafa

No action

I think this is sick. The government has had ample time to do something but they have not. It is their job to protect the country and protect its people. Five years later and girls still get raped, they are murdered and there is no action. What has the world come to? It scares me for the future, we need to protect our children.
