What is your new song about?

It’s a remake of Shafqat Amanat Ali’s Alaa Varia. The song is a modest shift from Sufi tones and has Indi-pop tunes.

When will it be released?

The song is set to release on May 9 with T-Series, an Indian Multimedia firm.

How long did it take for you to finish the track?

The entire process from the recording to the finished product took about a month.

What are you other upcoming projects?

I am currently busy with some songs I am working on with 9XM in Mumbai, a Bollywood music channel.

Since how long have you been singing?

Since childhood. I’ve sung in a church choir, fronted a rock band, have taken part in reality TV shows - and eventually combined all these experiences and learning and started writing my own songs a few years ago.

Can you tell us one song by you that you’re really proud of?

One of my personal favourite works is Na Roko, a song that I independently worked on. It was written and composed by me. We shot it in different parts of the UAE.

Who are your favourite singers?

My favourite singers include Adele, Aimy Weidner and Shanaya Twain.
