Attacker is known for his fudamentalist perspectives regarding dress codes
Ramallah: Palestinian Police in Hebron arrested on Wednesday a man who attacked a woman in Bab Al Zawiyah of the city because of the clothing she wore.
Sources in Hebron told Gulf News that a huge police force arrived at the scene and arrested the attacker before the woman’s family intervened to spare the city major problems.
During police investigations, the suspect confessed to have attacked the woman who walked the street in what he termed as inappropriate clothing. The sources said that the woman was physically unharmed but the attacker had slapped her and grabbed her from her clothes.
The sources said that the woman was veiled but the attacker did not like her form-fitting dress.
The sources stressed that the attacker had been known in his neighborhood for his fundamentalist perspectives mainly regarding the public decency.
The woman’s family has vowed revenge on the man and the Hebron governorate visited the woman’s family to try to calm down the situation.
