London: The chairman of Britain’s Conservative Party said the vote for Brexit to leave the European Union (EU) referendum would be binding on parliament, and Article 50, which formally starts the exit process from the bloc, would be triggered before the next election.

“I’m quite clear that the referendum result is binding on parliament,” Patrick McLoughlin told the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show on Sunday.

McLoughlin also said Article 50 would definitely be triggered before the next election.
