Tacloban City, Philippines: A 19-year-old student stabbed a 32-year-old senior high school teacher to death in Basey town, Samar in eastern Philippines on Monday, October 3.
Local media quoted Police Executive Master Sergeant Gerry Vargas, that George Lauron, a Science teacher at the Basey National High School, passed away from a chest wound
Kurt Lancanan, the suspect, quickly turned himself in to the authorities.
According to the inquiry, at around 2 am, Lauron, Lancanan, and other friends went on a party at the victim's boarding house.
However, during the party, the two got into a furious fight, which drove the suspect to stab the victim in the chest with a knife, according to Vargas.
After 30 minutes, Lancanan voluntarily turned himself in to the police, who detained the student pending the filing of a murder case.
