Pakistan Air Force makes dreams come true for young boy battling illness

Islamabad: In a heartwarming gesture, Pakistan Air Force has fulfilled the dream of a young boy suffering from a chronic disease by fulfilling his dream of becoming a pilot.

Abdullah Naveed is suffering from thalassemia, a blood disorder that makes it difficult to do many physical activities. However, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) partnered with the Make a Wish Foundation to make his ambition of becoming a pilot possible.

Naveed was invited to visit a PAF base where he was officially recognised as an honorary pilot by providing him with a uniform and rank. Air Officer Commanding, Southern Air Command, Air Vice Marshal Khalid Mehmood and Base Commander Air Commodore Asim Rana conferred the ranks in a traditional manner.

The young boy was given a tour of the facilities and met with Pakistani pilots and ground crew who treated him with kindness and told him to never give up on his dream.

Naveed was then presented with his own flight suit, patches, and name badge, to prepare him for the most exciting adventure. He was given the opportunity to sit in a fighter jet and feel the thrill of being part of the Air Force.

The boy said that he was “thrilled to be part of the PAF team” and to receive the hospitality of the pilots and her first-hand experience of the fighter jet. The PAF team wished Naveed a speedy recovery and hoped he would realize his dream of becoming a pilot.
