PESHAWAR: Gandhara Hindko Academy (GHA) has launched Hindko language android application with the aim of teaching children Hindko language alphabets.

A ceremony was held at GHA on Thursday, attended by General Secretary GHA Mohammad Zia Uddin, vice-chairman Dr Salah Uddin, Prof Mohammad Aadil, Prof Fakhrul Islam, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Zia Uddin said GHA has created history by launching the Hindko app. He said children belonging to Hindko-speaking families were mostly unaware about alphabetical identification of Hindko language. He said the purpose of launching this app was to create awareness among coming generations about the importance of alphabets in Hindko language.

The app comprised of forty levels to make children understand Hindko language alphabets and help them read, write and speak the language fluently.

Zia Uddin said the app also featured drawing tools and traditional animated stories for better understanding of alphabets.

It was the second app of Hindko language after Hindko Matalan which received wide appreciation in the community, he added. He appreciated the efforts of Khyber Coded Company which developed the app for the Hindko speaking society.
