Indian TV accress and model Gehana Vasisth has suffered a cardiac arrest and has been admitted to hospital after being on a long working shift without taking proper nutrition, Indian media reported late on Friday.
Gehana, 31, was admitted to hospital on Thursday, and is "extremely critical", reports stated, quoting hospital sources.
She has been put on ventilator and other life-saving device, after suffering a cardiac arrest resulting from a severe stroke and very low blood pressure.
She is currently undergoing treatment in Raksha Hospital in Mumbai's Malad area.
Known by her stage name Gehana Vasisth, Tiwari is an Indian actress, model, and television presenter.
After working for several brands as a model, she was crowned as Miss Asia Bikini via an online contest. She did more than 70 advertisements.
Initial reports, quoting her attending physicians, state the TV star may have suffered adverse reaction between prescription drugs and certain energy drinks consumed by her.
Vasisth was rushed to hospital after she fell unconscious on Thursday afternoon while shooting at Madh island for a web series.
Times of India reported that Pranav Kabra, doctor and head of the hospital, said Gehana was brought in "with no pulse and extremely low blood pressure".
He further revealed that it took two hours to revive her pulse and she had to be given electric shock treatment.
"She is not responding to treatment and has difficulty breathing on her own. We have put her on ventilator to ensure she has proper oxygen supply to her brain. You can describe her condition as extremely critical for now," Dr Kabra told the paper.
