New Delhi: In order to provoke an Armageddon-like confrontation with the United States, international terrorist outfit Daesh is preparing full throttle to attack India soon, reports an internal recruitment document of the feared group.

Obtained allegedly from a Pakistani citizen with connections inside the Pakistani Taliban, the report was published on Tuesday by USA Today. Referring to a 32-page document written in Urdu, the report highlights Daesh’ efforts to unite the Pakistani and Afghan Taliban into a single army of terror.

The undated document is titled A Brief History of the Islamic State Caliphate.

Chilling plans

“The preparations for an attack in India are under way and the attack will provoke an apocalyptic confrontation with America. Even if the US tries to attack with all its allies, which undoubtedly it will, the ummah [Muslims] will be united, resulting in the final battle,” reads the document, which was translated into English by a Harvard scholar.

It details a never-before-seen history of the terror group, chilling future battle plans, urging Al Qaida to join the group and says the Daesh leader should be recognised as the sole ruler of the world’s one billion Muslims.

Sources in the Defence Ministry told Gulf News that the government was aware of the Daesh’s attempts to gain a foothold in the country.

“Daesh and its ilk will realise their folly if they attack India. They should realise that this is not the Middle Ages when warlike hordes from the West could come and loot India whenever they wanted because India was a divided nation, with no single political and military power. They will be up against one of the largest and best trained armies in the world backed by a committed nationalist citizenry. They will meet their Waterloo here,” the sources said.

Lieutenant General Hooda, Commander, Northern Command, has already expressed concern over Daesh getting closer to Indian soil.

“We are seeing footprints of Daesh in the region slowly. We have already seen it in Afghanistan. There have been numerous incidents of conflict between Daesh and the Afghan Taliban. The Daesh is trying to gain some influence in Afghanistan. We have also seen factions of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) which operates in Islamabad pledging their allegiance to Daesh. So there is a creeping towards this side and definitely it is a matter of concern that their coming into closer and closer into our region,” he said.

Concern

Former director general of Punjab Police KPS Gill believes Monday’s terrorist attack in Gurdaspur in Punjab is a visiting card sent by Daesh. He has already expressed concern over the incident, referring to the terror attack as “the first Daesh activity on the Indian soil.”

“The Gurdaspur attack is not a case of simple infiltration but a terror activity which marks the presence of Daesh on the Indian soil. This happened under umbrella of Daesh,” Gill said.

According to intelligence reports, many Muslim youngsters in the country are being brainwashed by the pro-terrorists and made to join the Daesh. Many believe that Muslim leaders in India need to come forward to declare the Daesh as a disgrace to Islam, and issue fatwa to their brethren to avoid Daesh.
