Dubai: More than a dozen students and a teacher were rushed to the hospital after a prank went wrong at a school in Japan, 35kms from Tokyo.

The teacher, who made the emergency call at 11am on June 30, said “a student sprayed something inside the school,” according to NHK. The teacher and 17 students, mostly teenage girls, were then rushed to the hospital after they reportedly felt unwell.

According to NHK and Japan Today, the male student said he “jokingly sprayed insecticide in the corridor,” when questioned by the authorities and police

All those who were exposed to the spray are said to have only mild symptoms, and the situation is currently being investigated by the police.
