Blast hits police station in Afghan south – witness

Kandahar: A powerful explosion hit outside the main police station in Kandahar city in Afghanistan's south on Saturday, a Reuters witness said, but there was no immediate indication of casualties or damage.

Roads leading to the station had been blocked and heavy clouds of dust and smoke could be seen rising above the area, the witness said.
