Dubai: Errol Musk, the father of Tesla owner Elon Musk, made a controversial remark about his late grandson, Nevada, claiming the child spent "too much time" with nannies before his tragic passing.

In a podcast interview on the South African show Wide Awake, Errol Musk suggested that his son, Elon, "hasn't been a good dad," saying, "The first child was too much with nannies and died in the care of a nanny."

He added, "If Elon hears this, he's gonna shoot me or something, but anyway, that's what I think."

‘Too much with nannies’

Errol further criticised Elon and his ex-wife Justine, stating, "They were too rich, [had] too many nannies... then he had five children with the same woman - five sons, all brought up with their own nanny. You following me?"

He continued, sharing that when Elon and Justine divorced, the family had a bizarre setup, with six nannies on each side. Errol emphasized that his son "never spent time with his kids."

Elon and Justine Musk were married from 2000 to 2008. After Nevada's death, they had twin sons, Xavier and Griffin, followed by triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian.

Xavier, who later transitioned to Vivian and now identifies as female, is among Elon’s children.

After their divorce, Elon Musk had three more children with Grimes: X Æ A-12, Exa Dark Sideræl, and Techno Mechanicus. He also has three children—Strider, Azure, and another unnamed child—with Shivon Zillis.

Nevada's tragic passing

Elon and Justine have both addressed Nevada's death in the media. Elon, in a tweet, expressed his grief, saying, "My firstborn child died in my arms. I felt his last heartbeat. I have no mercy for anyone who would use the deaths of children for gain, politics, or fame."

Justine shared her grief in an essay for Marie Claire, recalling that Nevada's death was due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) at 10 weeks old. She described the heartbreaking moment, saying, "I held him in my arms when he died."

This public dispute between father and son is not new. In a 2017 interview, Elon called Errol "a terrible human being," explaining, "He was such a terrible human being... my dad will have a carefully thought-out plan of evil."

Elon clarified that while his father was not physically violent with him, there was a history of early violence in his childhood.
