US President Donald Trump slams former attorney Michael Cohen

Washington: Donald Trump sought Wednesday to distance himself from Michael Cohen as his ex-attorney planned to testify to Congress about the US president’s business dealings and personal conduct.

“Michael Cohen was one of many lawyers who represented me (unfortunately),” Trump tweeted while in Vietnam for a nuclear summit with North Korea.

“He is lying in order to reduce his prison time,” he said, adding that Cohen had been disbarred by the state of New York for lying to Congress.
