Vizhinjam Port in Kerala has achieved a remarkable milestone by receiving the world's largest eco-friendly container ship, the MSC Türkiye, operated by the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC). This monumental arrival highlights the port's growing prominence and India's capabilities in handling large-scale maritime operations. The MSC Türkiye is a marvel of modern engineering, measuring an impressive 399.9 meters in length and boasting a colossal capacity of 24,346 Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs), making it one of the largest container ships in the world.

Operated by Adani Ports, Vizhinjam Port is India's first mega transhipment container terminal. Strategically located just 10 nautical miles from some of the world's busiest international shipping lanes, this position enhances the port's accessibility to major global trade routes, solidifying its role as a key player in global maritime commerce.

The MSC Türkiye's eco-friendly design also emphasizes sustainable practices in the shipping industry. Its cutting-edge technology is focused on reducing emissions and enhancing fuel efficiency. The arrival of such a significant vessel underscores Vizhinjam Port's vision to become a central hub for transshipment, contributing to India's growing influence in global trade.

This achievement marks a critical moment in the evolution of India's maritime infrastructure, with Vizhinjam Port poised to offer advanced solutions for handling mega ships and boosting international trade.
