A polling booth in the Delhi Assembly Election 2025 showcased many events, from a telescope to a VR player. India’s capital province of Delhi began voting Wednesday in local elections with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) vying to dislodge one of his chief opponents.

Delhi, a sprawling megacity home to more than 30 million people, has been governed most of the past decade by charismatic Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
