Dubai: When Dubai’s summer heat is at its peak, indoor activities shift from being a luxury to a necessity. And what better way to beat the heat than by gliding across a sheet of ice?

Whether you're looking to stay active or simply escape the soaring temperatures, ice skating offers a cool and refreshing break from the outdoors.

This round-up of skating venues comes as part of the #DubaiDestinations summer campaign by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office. Featured in the Dubai’s Indoor Sports Destinations guide, the campaign runs until the end of July and continues to highlight exciting experiences across the city.

From nostalgic neighbourhood rinks to high-tech arenas, Dubai offers plenty of chilled-out spots to lace up your skates this summer.

Al Nasr Leisureland Ice Rink

Tucked away in Oud Metha, the Al Nasr Leisureland Ice Rink has long been a favourite among Dubai residents. This ice rink is a great place to learn the ropes or enjoy a casual session on the ice. It offers dedicated coaching, catering to beginners and advanced skaters as young as four years old. 

The atmosphere feels like a throwback to simpler times, with group discounts and entry rates starting at AED 40 for guest visitors. You can bring your own skates or rent a pair on-site.

  • Timings - everyday 9am to 12am

  • Location - Behind American Hospital, Oud Metha

Dubai Ice Rink

Located inside Dubai Mall, the Dubai Ice Rink is the biggest in the UAE and offers a more vibrant and dynamic experience. It hosts a wide selection of public sessions and skating lessons throughout the week.

On weekends, the rink transforms into a lively dance floor with live DJ sessions, offering a one-of-a-kind skating atmosphere. Daytime sessions cost Dh120, while evening sessions are priced at Dh145.

Tickets include skate and sock rental. Children between 100 cm and 120 cm must be accompanied by an adult, while those taller than 120 cm can skate alone. 

  • Timings - The rink is open from 10am to 10pm on weekdays and from 10am to midnight on weekends.

  • Location - Dubai Ice Rink, ground level floor and the nearest parking is P3, Cinema Parking

Sport Society - Ice Skating 

For a more modern and energetic vibe, the Ice Arena at Sport Society in Mirdif is a must-visit. Conveniently located next to Mirdif City Centre, the rink offers a full-day skating experience with public sessions, professional lessons, and lively weekend events.

During evenings, the Olympic-sized rink transforms into a dance floor with live DJ sessions, creating a vibrant atmosphere perfect for families, teens, and groups of friends.

Children measuring between 100cm and 120cm must be accompanied by an adult, while those taller than 120cm are allowed to skate on their own. Prices start at Dh120 for daytime slots and Dh145 for evening sessions. Skates and socks are included in the ticket price.

  • Timings - Sessions run from 10am to 10pm  on weekdays, extending until midnight on weekends.

  • Location - Mirdif - Dubai

The Galleria Ice Rink 

Step into a winter wonderland at Galleria Ice Rink, where you can skate solo or with instructors. The rink caters to casual skaters, school groups, birthday parties, and disco nights.

Skating here costs Dh55 on weekdays and Dh65 during weekends, with sessions lasting around two to two and a half hours. 

  • Timings - everyday 10am to 9.30pm

  • Location -  Hyatt Regency Dubai, Al Khaleej St - Corniche Deira
