Las Rozas Village celebrates 25 years with textile artistry in Mano a Mano series
Las Rozas Village

As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations, Las Rozas Village continues its homage to traditional craft with the second chapter of Mano a Mano - a seasonal series dedicated to elevating artisanal heritage in contemporary settings. Following the first edition, which spotlighted ceramic artistry, the focus now turns to textiles, with a curated programme that merges fashion, art, and design into a multisensory experience. From 23 June to 7 September, the Village becomes a living canvas where fabric, form, and slow design take centre stage.

This new chapter transforms the open-air space into a poetic tribute to textile culture, hosting the work of distinguished artists and makers. Leading the programme is Spanish designer and artistic researcher Regina Dejiménez, whose solo installation, The Nest Salon, takes over the Village’s Glass House with a textural and emotional landscape. Complementing her work is a large-scale textile intervention by the atelier Aletheia, founded by artisans Ayako Yokota and Gavina Ligas, whose textile arches reimagine the streets of Las Rozas as a walkable journey through colour, memory, and materiality.

Regina Dejiménez: A home for yexture, test, and contemplation

At the heart of this second chapter is The Nest Salon, a site-specific installation designed by Regina Dejiménez as a sanctuary dedicated to stillness, sensory connection, and interior harmony. Developed in her multidisciplinary textile and design studio, the space is conceived as a blend of sculpture, functional art, and emotional architecture.

Inspired by natural phenomena and the transformation of matter, Dejiménez’s work explores the dialogue between the micro and the macro - between the organic and the emotional. Using experimental textile techniques, she constructs sculptural pieces that evoke softness, depth, and reflection. The installation forms part of her Nest Home collection - a holistic design concept rooted in well-being, texture, and slowness, aimed at enhancing contemporary interiors.

Her practice is known for embracing scientific research, organic materials, and poetic forms. At Las Rozas Village, this manifests as a tactile and immersive world where each fabric object interacts with its environment, creating a sense of flow and ever-changing visual narratives. Light sculptures, layered textiles, and site-specific works come together in a space designed to invite rest, imagination, and beauty.

Aletheia’s textile arches: Colour, craft, and sustainability in motion

Extending beyond the Glass House, the work of Aletheia reshapes the public space of Las Rozas Village itself. Ten monumental textile arches have been installed throughout the Village, created using a proprietary dyeing process that combines natural pigments with layered immersion techniques. Each arch captures the essence of summer in the Village - from the golden light of afternoon skies to the subtle greens of garden spaces and the deep blue serenity of shade.

Natural dyes such as gardenia, madder root, plant tannins, and indigo are used to create colour gradients that shift with light and movement. Beyond aesthetics, these arches carry a deeper message: a call to slow down, to honour tradition, and to embrace imperfection. Inspired by kintsugi - the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, Aletheia incorporates golden thread and accents that highlight, rather than hide, each flaw. Stains become constellations. Tears are woven into the narrative.

Through this gesture, Aletheia presents a quiet resistance to fast, disposable fashion. Their arches act as soft monuments to time, care, and sustainable practice.
