Dubai: Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo has launched its limited edition FC Barcelona Edition of the P1 Plus exclusively at Gitex.
The smartphone comes in blue attire with red accents and also has an 18K gold-plated logo of the club. User interface customisations are in typical blue and red stripes, same colour of the team’s jersey. The dedicated phone case has laser-printed signatures of Lionel Messi, Neymar, Luis Suarez, Ivan Rakitic and Andres Iniesta on the inside.
Mohammad Naoufel Madih, marketing manager at Oppo, told Gulf News that only 5,000 units have been made globally and only 60 units are available at the event. It is priced at Dh2,599.
“Last year, we experimented with R7 Plus Barcelona Edition and it was sold like hot cakes in the region. Only 5,000 units have been made globally and only 60 units for the region,” he said.
The 5.5-inch device is powered by Mediatek MT6755 Helio P10 2 GHz processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage capacity.
The slim design and metal body, which resembles an iPhone 6s, is comfortable and sleek to hold.
It sports 16MP and f/2.0 aperture rear camera and 13 MP, f/2.2 aperture and phase detection autofocus front-facing camera.
Madih said that Oppo has provided wallpaper with the team’s colours for diehard Barcelona fans. There’s also a ringtone with the FC Barcelona anthem and some apps with unique FCB-themed icons for Calendar, Theme Store, Contacts and Photos app.
The Oppo F1 Plus is a large screen version of Oppo F1, dubbed as the “selfie expert”.
