Dubai: The vast majority of people choose their cars online before visiting the dealership and make their decisions after watching online car videos, according to a new Google survey.

The survey’s results, which were released on Monday, showed that 92 per cent of car buyers in the UAE don’t know what brand they want to buy at the beginning of the search process, and they turn to the web to make a decision.

“70 per cent of those who do know what brand they want end up changing their minds after they search online,” said a Google press statement.

Also, three in four buyers are watching online videos to learn about specific car features. The percentage is higher that US, where it is 37 per cent, and in UK where it is 36 per cent.

After the research is done, 87 per cent of potential buyers actually visit the dealership for the first time, the survey added.
