Huawei Mate XT comes up with multi screen sizes - and thin too
Dubai: The world’s first commercial triple-fold smartphone, the Huawei Mate XT, is ready to get UAE and GCC shoppers interested. The model represents a significant step up from the two-fold devices that have been gaining attention in these markets.
The ‘world’s largest foldable smartphone’ is also the ‘thinnest’, with a thickness of 3.6mm when fully unfolded. The camera module design takes cues from the symmetric ‘star diamond’ pattern, which remains a mark of Huawei’s ‘Ultimate Design’ lineup.
The single screen measures 6.4 inches, the dual screen takes up 7.9 inches, and the triple screen shows up as a 10.2-inch display. When fully unfolded, the 3K display is akin to the size of a tablet.
Each of the Huawei Mate XT devices comes with the ‘Eonic Curves’ on the camera lens module. (This is the outcome of 22 days of craftsmanship and 78 complex processes.)
On the back, there’s an ultra-thin leather, which measures just 0.47mm thick, presenting a ‘subtle yet luxurious material grain’. Available in two colours, black and red, the leather is crafted from ultra-light, ultra-strong aerospace-grade fiber.
The hinge technology used on the handset makes the display fold inward and outward at the same time ‘without making the phone look massive’. The new hinge system helped to reduce thickness by 23%.
The Huawei Mate XT also has the ‘world’s thinnest’ large-capacity silicon anode battery, at 1.9mm thick.
