Shabab Al Ahli sweep major honours as star duo lead season’s best
Abu Dhabi: Shabab Al Ahli dominated the 2024–25 UAE Pro League Awards at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental on Saturday, with Sardar Azmoum claiming the Golden Ball for Best Player and Hamad Almeqbaali taking the Golden Glove for Best Goalkeeper.
Azmoum edged out Mehdi Ghayedi (Kalba) and Caio Lucas (Sharjah) for the top individual prize after a stellar season leading Shabab Al Ahli’s attack. Almeqbaali, meanwhile, topped a strong goalkeeping field that included Ali Khaseif (Al Jazira) and Adel Alhosani (Sharjah).
Shabab Al Ahli’s dominance continued as Paulo Sousa was named Best Coach, and Guilherme Da Silva won the Golden Boy award for the best U23 player.

Fans’ Player of the Year: Mohamed Elneny (Al Jazira)
Golden Shoe – ADNOC Pro League: Laba Kodjo (Al Ain, 20 goals)
Golden Shoe – ADIB Cup: Ramon Mierez (Al Jazira, 5 goals)
Silver Shoe – Pro League U23: Mansoor Saeed Al Menhali (Al Wahda)
Al Ain won the Fans League award, while Al Jazira took the Professional Excellence in Club Licensing.
