Dubai: The International Alliance of Filipino Table Tennis Association, Dubai Chapter (IAFFTA) will host an Inter-Filipino School table tennis tournament for the first time.

This event supported by Adventureland, Al Rawabi Dairy, Bai Tong Restaurant and Emirates Sports Store will be held on December 1 at the Dubai Bowling Centre.

Players from Filipino schools in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi can participate in this one-day event. The categories include individual and singles games for elementary and high school students.

Attractive prizes are on offer for the winners including a free membership with the association.

Matches will commence from 10 am. The event is open for individual participation of students (all nationalities) of any Filipino schools in the UAE.

Non-Filipino schools could also send representatives provided the student is of Filipino nationality. For more information contact: quasaregs@yahoo.com.

In the 15th edition of the Al Sadiq Inter School table tennis tournament being organised by Al Sadiq Islamic English School, Nitin Adtani of the Indian High School, Dubai will take on his schoolmate G. Nikhilesh in the singles final on Sunday.

In the quarterfinals, Mohit Chugani of Emirates English Speaking School, Dubai defeated Faisal Ikram of Westminster School, Dubai 11-6, 11-9.

In another quarterfinals G. Nikhilesh of Indian High School, Dubai got the better of Rajan Varma of Indian High School 11-7, 11-7. Meanwhile, Elvis Siby of the Indian High School, Dubai ousted Syed Alvi of the Arab Unity, Dubai 9-11, 11-8, 11-9.

Nitin Adtani of the Indian High School, Dubai defeated Yashwant of Our Own Al Warqa'a by an 11-7, 11-6 margin.

All the semifinal matches were keenly fought with Adtani of the Indian High School, Dubai defeating Mohit Chugani of Emirates English Speaking School Dubai by 11-8, 11-9, 11-8.

In the other semifinal G. Nikhilesh of the Indian High School Dubai defeated Elvis Siby of the Indian High School, Dubai 11-6, 11-7, 12-14, 11-9.

In the semifinal of the team championship for Al Sadiq Cup, Indian High School, Dubai defeated Our Own High School, Al Warqa'a 2-0.

The architects of the victory were Nitin, who defeated Yashwant 11-5, 11-3, 13-11 and Nikhilesh who outplayed Hardik Goeld 11-4, 11-6, 11-8.

In the other semifinals, Emirates English Speaking School Dubai defeated Westminster School, Dubai 2-0.

Mohit Chugani defeated Raheel Khalid 11-8, 11-7, 11-9 while Elvis Siby registered a well fought win over Mohammad Faisal 7/11, 11/7, 11/8, 11/9.

This tournament, which is one of the oldest in Dubai is being sponsored by Yamaha Club Emirates and Al Yousuf Motors LLC.
