The professional model is ready to rock Court No. 1 when she meets Aryna Sabalenka
Wimbledon is about to get a dose of fashion and firepower. On Monday, all eyes will be on Court No.1 as Carson Branstine — tennis player and model — makes her Grand Slam main draw debut against World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka.
Sabalenka’s first reaction after spotting Branstine in a video from qualifying? “Oh my god, this girl is so beautiful.” She’s not wrong — Branstine’s signed to multiple modeling agencies and has walked the line between Vogue and volley for years. But don’t let the high cheekbones fool you — this 24-year-old Canadian-American has serious game.
Currently ranked No. 197 in the world, Branstine punched her Wimbledon ticket the hard way, winning three gritty qualifying matches, including an upset over Roland-Garros semifinalist Lois Boisson. She then took down former US Open champ Bianca Andreescu and closed with a win over Georgiana Serban. Now, she’s earned her place under the Centre Court lights.
“I know not everyone knows who I am,” she says, “but I truly believe I can beat anyone. Grass suits me. I’ve got a big serve and I’m not afraid to hit big.”
Branstine’s career has been a winding road of promise and pain. Injuries sidelined her for nearly five years. She spent years rehabbing, studying, and even working in family law courtrooms after earning a double degree in Philosophy and Sports Management. She once vowed to quit if she didn’t qualify for Roland-Garros in 2025. She did. And now? “Apparently ultimatums work for me,” she laughs.
Signed as a model purely for her looks Branstine used photo shoots to fund her globetrotting grind on tour. “I didn’t want to ask my parents for help. Everything I’ve done has come from me.”
Now, she’s doing it all on her terms.
Wimbledon has seen legends rise and fairy tales unfold. Branstine gets her shot on Monday and she’s ready to serve up something unforgettable.
