Abu Dhabi: Throughout the month of October, the capital city was swept up into racing fever, as various events across the city and on the Corniche helped bring a touch of Formula 1 to the public.

For many, a rare opportunity to be up close and personal with a race car was provided when several F1 car chassis were turned into art canvases by Emirati artists and displayed in various areas throughout the city.

Students were also given a glimpse of what is meant to be a part of the Formula 1 world through a series of lectures entitled ‘Mastering Motorsport', which were held at Zayed University.

From October 16 until November 2, the Yasalam F1 Fan Zone is providing various free entertainment and educational programmes, such as pit stop challenges, driving simulators, live screening of the Formula 1 races, as well as movies on the beach and a week long series of concerts.

Also, fans were given the treat of a lifetime when several F1 drivers made a surprise pit stop at the venue, signing autographs, having their pictures taken and answering questions.

On October 18, everyone was able to enjoy a Brazilian themed parade that took place on the Corniche.
