Dubai: UAE-born IndyCar driver Ed Jones is eager to banish recent bad luck in Pennsylvania on August 19 after finishing 15th in round 13 of the 17-stage season in Ohio last weekend.

The 23-year-old Brit is currently 13th in the driver’s standings on 255 points from six top 10 finishes, including two podiums, for Chip Ganassi Racing.

The 2016 Indy Lights champion and last year’s IndyCar ‘Rookie of the Year’ looked set for another good result in Ohio but despite having worked his way up to ninth after starting from 11th on the grid, he fell back to finish 15th after a puncture.

“It just seems like everything has gone against us recently no matter what we try to do, and that makes it look a lot worse than it is,” said Jones. “Surely things will change around and we will come back stronger.”
