Dubai Meydan Racecourse hosts it final pre-Dubai World Cup meeting on Thursday where the feature race is the Azizi Victoria Handicap over a mile on dirt.

A field of 13 go to post with the Doug Watson-trained Sheeba, holding genuine claims on the strength of his last performance where he was a 12-length winner over 1,800m.

However, a major threat looms in the form of South African-trained Baroot, who goes well on the Meydan dirt and his strong form to boot.

Galvanize, also trained by Watson and Satish Seemar’s Mazeed, also look to have the ability to pose a threat.

Another interesting race is the preceding Azizi Mina Handicap over seven furlongs where the Fawzi Nass-trained El Chapo has his fifth start of the Carnival.

Mike De Kock’s Tenchard makes his Dubai debut late in the season and it will be worth keeping an eye on him, for that reason, while Seemar’s Simple Attack as the pull of the weights.
