Tiger Woods Dubai construction work suspended

Dubai: Construction work on The Tiger Woods Dubai, a multi-million dollar golf and property development, has been suspended indefinitely, the resort's developer said in a statement. 

Dubai Properties Group, a subsidiary of Dubai Holding, had planned the resort with former world number one Tiger Woods, who designed the development's golf course. 

However, the company said the project is now on hold due to difficult market conditions for luxury developments. 

Dubai Properties Group said in a statement: "The Tiger Woods Dubai, a member of Dubai Properties Group, can confirm that it has suspended the project. 

"This decision was based on current market conditions that do not support high-end luxury real estate. These conditions will continue to be monitored and a decision will be made in the future when to restart the project. 

"We continue to maintain a good relationship with Tiger Woods and his organisation and will retain our commercial agreement together."
