Come Tuesday (April 5), the golf professionals will tee up and take on the challenge of the new magnificent Al Badia Golf Resort.

The course, measuring 7,250 yards, will test the UAE's golf professionals not only with the length but the 11 lakes that come into play will prove to be a strong challenge.

Simon Dunn of Dubai Creek Club is the pre-event favourite with notable absentees, Yasin Ali and Ross Bain, who are both away competing in international events.

Dunn's strong finish in the Montgomerie Open last week should stand him in good stead.

However, Al Ghazal's Andrew Elliot and Nad Al Sheba's Adrian Bell will be no pushovers as their big hitting round the lengthy course will prove to be a valuable asset.

Craig Skimming, the Golf Operations Manager at Al Badia, added: "We are delighted to host the local professionals to the Al Badia Golf Resort.

"The course is in fantastic condition and will be set up for a great challenge. We wish all the pros the very best of luck".
