Dubai: The action returned to Emirates Golf Club for the 21st Dubai Duty Free Senior’s Cup, with over 50 participants enjoying the challenge of the Faldo Course at the weekend.

In what proved to be a hot and humid day on the golf course, testing all players, Jimmy Sangani emerged as the overall winner with a fantastic score of 42 stableford points.

The winner of the Best Gross category was David Waite, with an impressive score of level par, 72 strokes on the day.

Within the Mens’ Division, the leader was Manoj Kapur with 40 points. Closely following in second place was Vishal Tikku on 38 points, having carded the best back-nine score in a scorecard play-off.

In the Ladies Division, Yana Jamieson emerged victorious with a 37 points and runner-up was Noemy Bertuol with 32 points.

Commenting on the Senior’s Cup, Colm McLoughlin, executive vice-chairman and CEO of Dubai Duty Free said: “This year marks the 21st running of Dubai Duty Free Senior’s Cup and the tournament has concluded what has been an extremely successful summer, and year to date, for Dubai Duty Free. The on-course prizes were won by Manoj Kapur for the nearest to pin on hole number 17, for the Men, and the longest drive on hole 16 was won by Luiz Bertuol.

For the Ladies, Sandra Chia claimed nearest the pin on hole number 8 and Yana Jamieson had the longest drive on hole 5.

McLoughlin presented the trophies to the winners along with Sinead El Sibai, Senior Vice President of Marketing.
