Sharjah: Daud Osman posted a net 63 to hog the limelight in the Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club’s second edition of the Fursa Consulting Red Tee Four Club Challenge.
The event is a highlight in the schedule for both members and guests due to the enjoyment of the format and the great prizes up for grabs.
There were several other good scores on the day including runner up Ravi A posting 68, followed by Gurbax Singh in third place — just one shot back on 69. SGSC vice-captain Rory Thompson and Jaydeep Sarkar both posted net 70 and Rory just pipped Jaydeep for fourth spot by virtue of a countback.
Fursa Consulting put up an array prizes on the day so there was lots for the players to play for. Winner of the best front nine score was Arnel Valencia with a score of 34 net. Back nine winner with a fantastic score of 32 was Alok Plant nine holes which included four net birdies and a net eagle. There was also a hidden holes prize where the players did not know what six holes would count towards this prize, Humayan Kaleem took home this award with a score of 21. The final on course prize was nearest to the pin this went to SGSC member Mohan GC whose perfectly struck pitching wedge finished seven feet from the hole.
All was not lost for the competitors who didn’t win any prizes on the course as there was a blind scorecard draw at the end of the presentation. Winners from the draw were Andrew Thom, Ben Mulvaney, Hans Ettengruber, Rajesh Chitti and Raj Ranavaga who were all delighted to walk away with pro shop vouchers.
