Dubai: Craig Forrest leads the way going into the final day on Saturday of the Shaikh Rashid Tournament, which was held at Al Badia Golf Club on Friday.

On the second day of the event on Friday, 25 players were within six shots of each other, which made for a close finish to decide the top 30 players to qualify for the final day at the Jebel Ali Golf Resort on Saturday.

The players found the course tough, with many high scores coming in for the day.

The leading three players going to final are: Craig Forrest (Jumeirah Golf Estates) (147), Louis Campbell (UK) (148) and Sydney De Souza (Emirates Golf Federation) (150).

The best gross score for day two was shared by Richard Holden (EGF) and Craig Forrest (JGE) on 74.

The two-over-par best net for day one was won by Louis Campbell (68 net) and for day two, Richard Holden (71 net) claimed the honours.

“The traditional Intercontinental hospitality and a dedicated Al Badia team headed by General Manager James Shippey offered splendid experience to golfers on day two of the Shaikh Rashid Trophy,” stated Khalid Mubarak Al Shami, EGF’s Secretary-General, before he accompanied the UAE national team to Bahrain.

The Shaikh Rashid Trophy is sponsored by Jebel Ali Golf Resort and supported by Gulf News and Ernst & Young.
