Dubai : Father and son duo Vikram and Aditya Judge scored a superb betterball stableford score of 41 points to be judged the best and win the Carpetland Monthly Open for August at Dubai Creek on Saturday.

A great outward nine of 21 points inclusive of four gross birdies between the pair set them up nicely to return in 20 points and take the trophies by a clear two shots.

Husband and wife, Robert and Maureen Platt, finished in runners up spot with 39 points by virtue of a count back all the way to their last three holes. Mitesh Desai and Vivian Verma finished in third place also with 39 points.

The top three winning pairs have secured the fourth, three places available in the fifth consecutive grand finals to be held in May.

Alex Anderakis won nearest the pin on the 16th hole with a sweetly struck iron shot to several feet. Adrienne Fullerton won the longest drive for the day on the 7th hole. The lucky and very surprised raffle winner of the sought-after Carpetland Rug was Ashok Kumar. Dubai Creek staged a staff par three competition last week where 59 staff members competed for crystal trophies donated by members Patrick Morrow, Kuttan Malattiri, S.G. Nair, Sajid Mahmoud and Vivian Mascarenhas.
