Dubai: Dubai Aluminium (Dubal) will continue their sponsorship of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters for the next three years.

The new agreement with ‘golf in DUBAi,’ the promoter and organiser of the two events, reinforces their commitment to the two events, according to a press release.

Dubal has been associated with the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, the flagship golf event of Dubai, since its inception in 1989 — as the main sponsor.

“Dubal is delighted to continue its association with ‘golf in DUBAi’ as we consider corporate investment in the growth and development of Dubai to be both a duty and a privilege,” said Abdullah Kalban, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dubal.

Commenting on the new argument, Mohammad Juma Bu Amim, vice-chairman and CEO of ‘golf in DUBAi’ said: “Our association with Dubal has evolved with time, scaling new heights altogether. Sponsorship provides a valuable lifeline for any sporting event and it is a matter of pride for all us at golf in DUBAi to see Dubal continue their support. I am sure we are in for an exciting time ahead.”

World number one Tiger Woods and the hugely popular Rory McIlroy will headline a strong field when the Classic celebrates its 25th anniversary at Emirates Golf Club from January 27 to February 2, 2014. The two will join an illustrious list of past champions to ensure an exciting atmosphere, befitting the silver jubilee celebrations of an event that has contributed to the rapid growth of golf in the region.

Early in December, a galaxy of superstars from both sides of the Atlantic, led by world number three Stacy Lewis, will descend on Dubai to showcase their talent during the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters, serving a reminder that sport has always been a distinguishing feature of the phenomenal growth story of Dubai.

Promoters golf in DUBAi are backed by Omega as title sponsors and Dubal as sponsors. The co-sponsors are CNN, Drydocks World and Maritime World, Emirates NBD, Gulf News, Mercedes-Benz and wasl, while Dubai Duty Free, Carpetland and Motivate are the patrons in golf in DUBAi’s venture.
