The two-day event features a strong field with the region's lowest handicappers set for two days of golf
Dubai: The Dubai Creek Men's Amateur Open will swing into action when the first day's play begins at 7:20am on Friday.
The two-day OMEGA-sponsored event features a strong field with the region's lowest handicappers set for two days of highly contested golf.
Over 120 entries were received and the handicap ballot was set at 15, guaranteeing a strong field of 99 players.
Heading up the list of favourites from entries received will be the UAE-based and handicappers Ahmad Al Musharrekh, Joel Neale and Pontus Fredriksson.
Home favourite Miki Mirza and Vikram Judge, six-time champion, are not to be counted out along with the other four scratch golfers in the field, Shezad & Bayhaan Lakdawala and Calum & John Mills.
The Dubai Creek Men's Amateur Open is the fifth event in the 2009/2010 EGF Order of Merit and returns after a superb tournament last year, where Soo Chul Shin won.
