Retief Goosen, the South African golfer who fired a six under par 66 on debut here, said it was quite difficult to catch Tiger Woods.

The winner of two US Open titles, Goosen was asked how difficult it is to topple Tiger. "I don't know. If we knew that, we would catch him," replied Goosen. "His game has gone to another level and hopefully this year someone will get hot and give him a bit of a run for his money," said Goosen. Goosen came up with some superb putting to stay within striking distance. "I putted really well today, had 21 putts and that will always help your score. But my ball striking was not very good. I was hitting it a bit sideways." Goosen is hopeful that his game will get better. "I hit a few good iron shots coming in and hopefully the rust will fall away as the week goes on," he added.
