Dubai: The inaugural Duca Del Cosma MyGolf Dubai Nine Hole Golf Simulator Tournament, supported by Gulf News, will be played at MyGolf Dubai, Dragon Mart 2, on August 7 (Sunday) with a shotgun start at 5 pm.

Open to all golfers with an EGF handicap, with a maximum handicap for men of 24 and for ladies of 36, there is a 95% handicap allowance. Entry Fees are Dhs 150 per person with MyGolf Dubai members paying Dhs 100 including prizes. Entries are now being taken on a first come, first served basis, with a maximum field of 24 golfers.

The nine-hole tournament will be played over the back nine holes of the Old Course at St Andrews, Scotland, venue for last week’s Open Championship won by Australia’s Cameron Smith.

Marta Biswas, owner of White Eagle Sport, golf event organisers in Dubai, commented at the announcement. ‘‘We are excited to be hosting our first Duca Del Cosma event at MyGolf Dubai. This tournament initiative coincides with the recent opening of our Duca Del Cosma Pop-Up store in Gate Avenue, DIFC. Duca Del Cosma Italian crafted shoes are now available in Dubai and the UAE and we are excited to make this announcement through the support of this tournament.

‘‘We also thank Gulf News for their platform support. The golf simulator facilities at Dragon Mart 2 are exceptional with its climate-controlled entertainment centre. In the warm Dubai summer, it is the ideal venue to continue competitive golf and we look forward to attracting a full field.’’
