Callan Barrow heads into the final round of the Clutch Pro Tour’s Al Hamra Championship with a three-stroke lead after signing for an impressive five under par 67 on day two of the 54-hole event at Al Hamra Golf Club.

Barrow, who lost full Challenge Tour playing privileges last season, carded six birdies and one bogey en route to topping the leaderboard on eight under par.

Should the 26-year-old remain at the summit at the close of play tomorrow, he will earn an invite into one of the two Challenge Tour events in Abu Dhabi next month.

If he were to win a spot in the UAE Challenge or Abu Dhabi Challenge, it would be the Englishman’ second appearance in one of the two events after featuring in both last year.

Oliver Chesterman and Jacob Hassan are three behind in a share of second, while Toby Bishop, a former Dubai resident, sits two shots further back in tied fourth with Harry Ellis after following up his first round 68 with a one over par 73 at the Peter Harradine-designed track.

Dubai-based Natalii Gupta, who received an invitation from the Emirates Golf Federation into the event, is the leading female in tied 12th on level par.

This is the first time the Clutch Pro Tour, which is the official feeder Tour to the Challenge Tour, has held an event in the UAE. The circuit prides itself in being an 'open access' pro golf tour, offering high quality tournaments that provide a platform for player development.

The Emirates Golf Federation received 20 invitations into the event and next week’s Al Zorah Masters, the second of two events on the International Series, which have gone to young professionals in the region, local amateurs and UAE National Team players.
